When it comes to food, there is nothing in this world that can ever come between me and …….. ( drumroll) …. Caramel custard. It’s my fav fav fav dessert and I absolutely love it. Here’s the recipe that I follow to make the same. Try it sometime… U might like it 🙂
2 1/4 cups milk
12 tsp sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
Mix the milk with 9 teaspoons of sugar and boil for 5 minutes. Cool.
Beat the eggs very well and add to the cold milk.
Add the vanilla essence. Mix well.
Mix 3 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of water in a vessel. Melt on a slow flame. When the liquid becomes dark in colour, spread it evenly over the base of a vessel.
Wait for a few minutes. The sugar will become dry.
Pour the eggs – milk mixture over it.
Cover the vessel with a lid or tie a piece of brown paper on top.
Put the vessel in a pressure cooker and cook. Alternativey, steam the pudding but this requires about 1 hour.
Cool the pudding and chill in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator.
When you want to serve, turn it on a plate. It drops easily.
